You may cancel an applicant's lease any time before the move-in date.
Cancelling an Unapproved Lease
If you generated but did not approve a lease, cancelling it reverts the applicant back to the status Application: Approved.- In Entrata, go to Leads >> All Leads.
- Click on the name of an applicant who has progressed to any of the following statuses:
- Lease: Started
- Lease: Partially Completed
- Lease: Completed
- If you need help finding a lead, you can use the Search bar in the top-right corner, or access the filter by clicking the filter icon in the sidebar.
- In the Lead Profile, click the More Actions drop-down in the top-right corner and select Cancel Lease. The applicant's status reverts back to Application: Approved.
Cancelling an Approved Lease
Once an approved lease is cancelled, the future resident becomes a cancelled applicant.
- In Entrata, go to Residents >> All Residents.
- Click on a resident with the status Future. This opens their Resident Profile.
- If you need help finding a future resident, you can either use the Search bar in the top-right corner or access the filter by clicking the filter icon in the sidebar.
- In the top-right corner of the Resident Profile, click the More Actions drop-down and select Cancel Lease. This opens the Cancel Lease screen.
- Complete one of the following sub-processes according to your property's policies.
- Cancelling the Lease without Completing a Financial Move-Out (FMO)
- Review temporary transactions.
- Click Continue cancellation of the lease. This cancels the lease and changes the future resident to a cancelled applicant.
- Completing the Financial Move-Out (FMO) and Cancelling the Lease
You can complete an FMO from the Cancel Lease screen.- In the Cancel Lease window, review and fill out all fields.
- Review any charges and credits.
- Click Submit. This cancels the lease and changes the future resident to a cancelled applicant.
