Countersigning and Approving a Lease

After a digital lease is e-signed by all necessary applicants and guarantors, you must approve the lease by countersigning it.

After generating or uploading a lease, the applicant must sign it, you must countersign it, and then the lease needs to be approved (or marked as countersigned) in Entrata. You can countersign and approve a lease from either the Lead Profile or the Dashboard.

Before you begin:

  • All applicants and guarantors must have e-signed the lease through ProspectPortal.
  1. In Entrata, go to Dashboard >> My Dashboard >> Approvals >> Documents. The Lease Packets sidetab is selected by default.
  2. In-line with an applicant who has e-signed a lease, click Countersign. This opens the Approve & Sign Lease window.
    1. To bulk approve leases, use the checkboxes in the left-most column to select all applicants whose leases need approval. Then, click Countersign Leases above the Property column.
  3. In the Approve & Sign Lease window, review the lease and click the checkbox to acknowledge that you reviewed the lease.
  4. Enter your full name in the designated field.
  5. Click Click Here to Sign!.
    1. This changes the applicant's status to Lease: Approved. The lease is available for viewing in both ProspectPortal and the Documents tab of the Lead Profile.
